When you are still a senior high school student, you imagine yourself how is life in college. All the excitement and anticipation makes you wanna leave high school even more. Upon graduating from high school, your parents will usually send you to college for further studies. But you have no idea how college life is. It’s another adventure waiting for you in your life’s journey. You feel excited and nervous at the same time because you are a senior in high school and now you are back to becoming a junior with more people, people that are older than you. These are 5 things you should know before you go to college.
1.Different Walks Of Life
You may see in freshman year students are trying hard to break the ice, trying to make new friends in this new life they ventured. Listen to people’s stories telling where they came from and how they ended up here. You will find that many people will have different cultures. It’s not only local people but you might also end up meeting foreigners studying in your local college or you are studying abroad. People with different beliefs, thinking and thoughts. This is what you will find in college.
2.Friends In College May Be Just Your Temporary Friends
It’s hard to say this but this might be true. You spend your 3 years’ time with your friends in college studying together, playing together, eat together, sleep together. It will come to end that you have to go when you graduate from your college. Your friends will probably be going back to their hometown or looking for jobs at different places. And your conversation with them will gradually reduce and may end up not contacting with each other anymore. But who knows, your best friend in college may cross-road with you again in future.
3.Tons of Assignments
When you are in college, you will be given tons of assignments to do with a deadline. And sometimes, your lecturer will ask you to form a group to do the assignment together. That’s where everyone starts panicking – looking for group members, trying their best to look for the best team member that knows everything, delegate the task to everyone. Unfortunately, you may also encounter some problems with your group members like someone slacking off and doesn’t do a single thing and push the task to you. You will be equally as stressful as coming to work meeting up deadlines. (Some even has sleepless night because of it)
4.You Have More Free Time
On the contrary, you have more free time as well. Unlike high school which starts at 8am and ends at 2pm, college is just a couple hours of lecture and that’s it, you are done with the day. But that doesn’t mean having more free time and you can relax more, instead people use this to study by themselves, doing more tutorials, going to the library, practice is the key to success to obtain first class honors.
5.Study Hard, Play Hard
That is what college students usually said. When you have time to study, study. When it comes to the weekend, you play hard. Going out party drinking, eat whatever you want. You get to enjoy the sheer moment of life to be contended by partying around your neighborhood. But that doesn’t mean you should be doing drugs or smoke weed in your college life.
So how is your college life?
